Dolatrai Chhotubhai Gandhi

It is with deep sadness that we share and grieve the passing of beloved Dolatrai Chhotubhai Gandhi of Somers Point, New Jersey, originally of Rankuva, India. Dolatrai peacefully passed away while surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at the age of 90.

Dolatrai was born in Rankuva, India on August 9th, 1933. He grew up in a large, loving family with four brothers and two sisters. Coming from a family who had a farm, Dolatrai spent long days in agriculture working with farmers to ensure that all that his father had built was maintained. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, traveling, and was a religious devotee.

On December 13th, 1952 Dolatrai married his loving wife, Shrada, to whom he was married to for 71 years. For a better and brighter future for their children, they took a leap of faith and moved to Somers Point, NJ, August of 1983. His six grandchildren and two great grandchildren were his world. He whole heartedly found joy spending time with them.

Dolatrai is predeceased by his parents, Chhotubhai and Gangaben Gandhi, as well as three brothers and two sisters.

Dolatrai is survived by his wife, Sharda, one brother, Kantibhai and wife Kailashben, four children, Ila and husband Jagdish, Ashok and wife Manisha, Bharat and wife Hina, Atul and wife Trusha — six grandchildren, Gaurav and wife Khushbu, Disha and husband Sunjay, Fenil, Amy and fiancé Hasya, Parth, and Mark — two great grandchildren, Ziva and Shrey.

Funeral services will be held for family and friends at: LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ
