Diane Louise Ghegan

May 27, 1957 — May 1, 2023

We mourn the loss of Diane Ghegan, who passed away on May 1, 2023, at the age of 65. Diane's unwavering spirit and strength were evident as she fought a courageous battle against cancer. Her legacy of love and cherished memories will forever remain in our hearts.

Born on May 27, 1957, Diane was a beloved wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her devoted husband, Martin Ghegan, who stood by her side throughout her entire battle, providing unwavering support and love.

Diane is predeceased by her daughter Sarah M. Ghegan, whom she loved and missed dearly.

She is survived by her mother Gloria McDevitt, a sister, aunt and cousin. Diane is also survived by her stepchildren, Christina Ghegan, Martin Ghegan, Cheryl (Donald) Brown, and Brian (Aymee) Ghegan. Together, they faced life's challenges with unwavering unity and cherished every moment spent together. She honored her mother by taking care of her until she couldn’t.

Additionally, Diane leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Alyssa LeDuc, Alayna Fox, John Bryan, Vincent, and Elliott Ghegan. Diane's absence will be deeply felt in their lives, but her love will continue to guide them.

Diane enjoyed traveling when she had the chance. She went to Crystal, Maine to get married April 17th, 1990 at her husband's parent's home. She went to amusement parks, aquarium, concerts at Cooper River Park, and the shore many times. She enjoyed fireworks over the years. She enjoyed cookouts with family and swimming in the pool. Diane loved plants and flowers and had many outside of her home as she enjoyed seeing God’s creations. Sunsets were also one of her favorites. She also delighted in going to church to hear Gods word, dining out, particularly enjoying meals at the Hibachi Grill and savoring the flavors of Boardwalk Pizza and ice cream. Diane had a unique talent for cleaning chicken bones with precision, leaving no morsel untouched. She loved Boston Terrier’s and missed “Lucky” so much.

Diane Ghegan's presence will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever be cherished. She touched the lives of many with her love and strength. We are so thankful her soul will rest in eternal peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and may her loved ones find solace in the precious memories they shared with her and look forward to reuniting in heaven.
