On April 11th, 2025, our family lost a mother, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother and a dear friend. Deborah Lynn Smith, 51, of Chesilhurst, NJ was a force of nature. She leaves behind a daughter, JessieLeigh Rahinsky (Michael) and a son, Charles Smith. Deborah was the youngest of eight children, Carla Densten (Harry), Jeanette Watson, Stephen Jelinski, James Jelinski, Jodi Fitting (Billy) and Brandi Fennimore (Tom). She was also a loving grandmother to Braelynn and AriellaLynn Rahinsky and a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Smith and Jacqueline Jelinski as well as her older brother Robert Jelinski.
Deborah was a lively and spirited woman. Her uncontainable spirit led her to many adventures and never kept her from hopping on the tallest roller coaster in the amusement park. Don't let all the pictures around us fool you, Deborah was not one to sit still enough to be photographed. Yet, despite her uncanny ability to dodge the camera, our mother's smile is engrained in our hearts and minds forever and a day.
Our Mom loved to be in the kitchen just like her own mother. She was famous for her fried chicken and cookies (which she mostly kept under her bed as a midnight snack). If given more time I am confident that she could've perfected her recipe for the world's most butter- packed popcorn. Jiffy Pop has nothing on her.
Just like J. Lo has nothing on her dance moves. Deborah was always singing and dancing no matter if she had a willing and participating audience or not. Her laugh was contagious and always brought joy to those around her. She nurtured and cared for her family, friends and even complete strangers just like she did her little garden.
Even in death, our mom was able to save three lives with the gift of organ donation. Our mom is our HERO, always and forever.
Family and friends are invited to attend Deborah's celebration of life on Friday April 18th, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 pm with a service to follow at 8:00 pm at LeRoy P.
