David Paul Van Atter, Sr.

David P. Van Atter, Sr., age 62 of Sicklerville, NJ, passed away on May 17, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to William M. and Joanne (nee Tharpe) Van Atter in Ridley Park, PA. David proudly served in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division during invasion of Grenada. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved playing hockey, watching the Philadelphia Flyers, and coaching. David took an interest in cars and will lightheartedly be remembered as a shade tree mechanic by his family. He will be deeply missed.

David is predeceased by his granddaughter, Stella Mae Van Atter, and brother, William Van Atter.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Patricia A. Van Atter (nee Jordan); children, David P. Van Atter, Jr., (Dawn), Tiffany Freas (Adam), and Zachary Van Atter (Lauren); grandchildren, Marissa, Rylee, Hudson, and Harper; mother, Joanne Van Atter; father, William M. Van Atter and stepmother, Marge Van Atter; siblings, Mark Van Atter (Maryellen) and Joanne Viscusi (Mike); and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory and will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a local Veterans charity of the donor’s choice.
