Conrad George Hess, age 86 of Sicklerville, NJ, gained his wings April 9, 2022 at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, with his wife Sue by his side. Conrad courageously fought Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease since 1995. He never let this disease get the best of him. Conrad was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 13, 1936, to George and Violett (Woodruff) Hess. He graduated Camden High School in Camden, NJ in 1954. He proudly served 3 years in the United States Army after high school and loved his experience. Most of his career was spent managing hotels from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma and Las Vegas, NV. In 1981 while in Houston, TX he met the love of his life, Sue Ellen Isbell and they were married for 38 years. They were both working at the same hotel chain (different cities) and joined in holy matrimony in December 1983. They enjoyed many fun years together and especially travelling until Conrad’s health would not allow him. In 1983, Conrad and Sue moved to New Jersey, back to his family, and he managed Philadelphia high-rise office buildings and apartments until his retirement. Those remaining to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Sue Hess (Isbell); children, Dawnn Feldman (Louis), Gail Hess, Neil Hess (Mary) and Glenn Hess and their mother, Gertrude Hess; brother Henry Hess (Patricia); several nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Conrad will be cremated so he can remain with Sue forever. In lieu of any services, please send condolences to the family or online condolences may be shared on his tribute wall.
