Colleen Davis, age 94, formerly of New Providence, NJ, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Sicklerville, NJ on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Colleen was predeceased by her husband Ronald E. Davis (2004), daughter Catherine Wurst (2010), and her grandson Gregory Wurst (1991). She is survived by her children Marilyn Jacobson, Susan Hatala (John), Nancy Kleiber (Arnold) and Robert Davis. She will be lovingly missed by her grandchildren Stephen Hatala, Amy Bower, Matthew Kleiber (Destiny), Alison Wurst, Diana Wurst, Melissa Chios (Louis), Pamela Thomson, Catherine McHardy (Trevor), Kiren Ward (Lee), Brittany Davis, Tara Davis and 12 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by son-in-law Joe Wurst, sister-in-law Gerrie Davis and 11 nieces and nephews and their families. Colleen was the daughter of Winnifred Maude (Linton) Davidson and Dalton Harper Davidson and sister to Robert L. Davidson, D. Jack Davidson and Marilyn Jewell Moody, all of whom predeceased her. Colleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was first and foremost a “people” person and a friend to all. A proud Canadian, she was raised in a small-town hotel (Mitchell, Ontario) for her first 13 years. It was there she learned that welcoming everyone she met was her calling. She was a bank teller in Summit, NJ from 1967-1974 where she was well known for her excellent service, including remembering all of her customers names and forging personal relationships with them. She always had a ready smile and each day of her life was enriched by her love of family, friends and music. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of one’s choice. A private service will be held at a later date.
