Suddenly, on July 8, 2024, Clifford Earle Schemelia, Jr., left his family here on this earth and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Cliff is the beloved husband of Patricia A. Schemelia (nee Farina); devoted father of Jennifer (Kirk) Loomis, Brian (Tara) Schemelia, Adriane Hoffman, Matthew Schemelia, Bethany Schemelia; loving grandfather to Joshua (Sara), Diane, Brianna (Gabriel), Emma, Jacob (Marissa), Leah, Anna; dear brother to Larry (Ruth), David (Teresa); also survived by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
In the 75 years that God gave Cliff, he experienced the fullness of God! One of the joys and highlights of his high school years was starting the family running legacy of track and cross country, coaching his brothers Larry and David, as he ran track, himself! Graduating from Gloucester High School in 1967, he selflessly enlisted in the U.S. Army during the height of the Vietnam War. While never deployed to SE Asia, he served his country, honorably, with a final deployment in the Pentagon, working in communications....his rank being a SGT. E5.
Cliff married Patty Farina in 1970 and went on to have 5 children. To support his family, Cliff was employed by Johns Manville where he worked his way up to a supervisory position and eventually retired from there.
He rededicated his life to the Lord in 1979, devoting much of his time to the study of God's word, the Bible. He later developed a deep passion to be a teacher of the word. He taught 3-4 year old children, elementary aged children, middle school, high school and adults....wherever God needed him.
He was handy in doing anything electrical. If people needed electrical repair work done, ceiling fans installed, etc., he was there if you needed him. He never wanted payment because he did it ministerially, as unto the Lord; something that filled him with joy!
During his retirement years he participated in helping in his Church's food pantry where he notoriously was known for his sarcastic "one liners," quick wit and goofy shirts...making him loved by everyone!
Cliff lived a blessed life....cut short to those left behind, but right on time to God! We won't say goodbye. We'll just say, "until we see you again!".
Family and friends are welcome to attend his viewing on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am at the Bethel Church, 1583 Blackwood-Clementon Road, Blackwood, NJ.
