Charles A. Roehr, Sr.

Charles A. Roehr, Sr., age 83 of Gibbsboro, NJ, passed away April 17, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Robert and Esther (nee Beetle) Roehr in Glendora, NJ. Charles started his career as a pressman for The Bulletin. When the Bulletin ceased circulation, his seniority earned him a position with the Philadelphia Inquirer, where he remained employed until his retirement in 2002. Charles was an avid guitar player, playing in the Palmyra String Band and Sterling String Band, but his true passion was playing classic county and bluegrass music. He enjoyed camping and took many camping trips, but especially enjoyed visiting Belleplain State Forest. Charles also enjoyed fishing. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Charles is predeceased by his siblings, Robert Roehr, Esther Leppin, and John Roehr; and parents, Robert and Esther Roehr.

He is survived by wife of 65 years, Carol Roehr (nee Schotter); children, Charles A. Roehr, Jr. (Adele), Brian W. Roehr (Donna), Mark W. Roehr (Maureen), and Kimberly A. Ober (Gregory); 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sister, Edna Wasson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Gibbsboro, NJ.
