Catherine Fofana

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Caston Fofana, also known as “Nanny” and “Nan.” She lost her long battle with cancer on December 27th, 2024, at 8:00 PM, taking her last breath surrounded by family and friends. Her courage, strength, and unwavering love throughout her illness were a testament to her incredible spirit. Catherine was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, whose warmth and kindness will be cherished by all who knew her.

Catherine is survived by her three children, Steven Caston, Michelle Pipitone, and Nicole Hoffman. She was the loving grandmother to nine grandchildren, Alyea, Cain, Josephine (Selena), Na'cyr,  Na’san, Cyr’rae, Marlena, Justise, and Byron. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Milani, Amir and Kyrie, each of whom brought immense happiness and joy into her life.

Catherine was one of eight children who deeply loved each other, William, Theresa, the late Rosemary, the late Harry, Rosetta, Jean Marie, and Kenneth.

Despite the challenges she faced with her illness, Catherine remained a pillar of love and strength for her family. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome, full of laughter, stories, and care. Nanny was a firecracker but all in all she was a kindhearted soul. Catherine's presence will be missed beyond words, but her legacy of love, resilience, and dedication to her family will live on in the lives of those she touched.

A celebration of Catherine's life will be held in the coming days, where friends and family will gather to honor and remember a woman whose light will forever shine in our hearts. The celebration will be held on January 18th, 2025, 12:00 PM-4:00 PM at The Vision Castle, located at 201 Kresson-Gibbsboro Rd., Unit 8, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043.
