Carmen Obeda Perez

Carmen Obeda Perez, 93, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, in Waterford Works, New Jersey. Born in 1931 in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, Carmen lived a life full of love, joy, and dedication to her family and community.

Carmen devoted her career to the Puerto Rico school system, where she worked as a matron, nurturing and guiding countless young minds. Her passion for education and her commitment to the well-being of students left a lasting impact on those she served.

Beyond her professional life, Carmen was known for her vibrant spirit and love for life. She cherished dancing, partying, and socializing, always bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Her home was a gathering place for family and friends, where she created countless cherished memories.

Carmen is survived by her beloved daughters, Norma I. Lopez, Carmen L. Hill, Leticia M. Cruz, Theresa Perez, and Esther Carrion, as well as her son, Federico S. Perez. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Doris Rodriguez, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.

A viewing to honor Carmen's life will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 9am to 11am, with services beginning at 11am at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, New Jersey. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 2398 Marlton Pike W., Cherry Hill. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many.

Carmen's legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by her family and friends.
