Carmen J. Sammartino

Carmen Sammartino, of Atco, NJ, age 85 passed away on November 24th, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Carmen was born on July 15, 1939, to Joseph and Susie Sammartino in Philadelphia, PA. He began his working career in the clothing industry. He started at a young age as a bundle boy and then moved up to a clothing cutter, working at various places. While working for Sir For Her, he went to school for computers and became a pattern marker maker. His final job before retiring was for Burberry in Williamstown, NJ.

Upon retiring from Burberry in 2006 he moved to Ocean City where he enjoyed going to the beach and boardwalk, fishing, and washing and waxing his Mustang convertible.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Schwerdtmann) Sammartino, his two children Joseph (Tina Louise),

Maria (Alyx), two stepchildren, Stacey Allen (Bob) and Michael Bishop (Melissa), nine grandchildren, Nicole, Joseph, and Frankie Sammartino; Robert, Matt (Deanna) Allen, and Sabrina (Tim) Kane; Madeline, Lindsay, and Michael Bishop; and three great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Susie and his brother Joseph.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ with the funeral service to begin at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill, NJ.
