Arthur A. Polonsky

June 6, 1949 — December 17, 2022

Arthur A. Polonsky, lovingly known as “Bear,” age 73 of Glassboro, NJ, passed away on December 17, 2022. He was born to the late Charles and Tauba (nee Abrin) Polonsky in Atlantic City, NJ. Bear worked as a car and boat mechanic for many years. In his youth, Arthur loved to race boats and build flying model airplanes. A deep love of feeling the fresh air & breeze in his face inspired a lifelong passion of both bicycles and motorcycles. Arthur cycled for years, even building up bicycles from the frame. This led to him becoming an avid Harley motorcycle rider, he was devoted to riding for many charitable causes. He was always there to support our Veterans and children whether he was escorting a Veteran home or participating in a toy run for sick children. Bear rode for Legion Riders Post 252, 352, 281, 371, and 372, Nam Knight’s, POW/MIA Riders, Chrome Riders, Chrome Angeles, Warrior Watch Riders, Bikers Against Bullying of South Jersey and Centurions. Always active and involved, he was also a member with Free and Accepted Mason Pitman Lodge 197 and Worshipful Master 2015. Arthur also had a deep love of animals, especially his Golden Retrievers. Later in life, he became lovingly known as Santa, or even ‘Santa Bear’ as he truly shared the Santa twinkle in his eye. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his faithful generosity.

Arthur is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Tauba Polonsky and his beloved wife, Barbara Polonsky.

He is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Howard (William) and Carolynn Searle (Michael); grandchildren, Johnathan Arthur Mohr, Beau Alexander Kuhn, Charlie Christine Searle, Michael Joseph Searle, Jr., Jessica Louise Searle; companion, Doreen “Dee Dee” Nester, and his amazing caregiver, Barb, for whom his daughters are so grateful.
