Anthony V. Bartuccio

July 28, 1943 — March 1, 2022

Anthony Vito aka “Pete & Bart”, Bartuccio passed away March 1, 2022, with his loving son by his side. He was born on July 28, 1943, in Stratford, NJ and lived most of his life in Cedar Brook, NJ. Predeceased by his parents Maria (nee Matarese) and Anthony J. Bartuccio and his beloved sister Joanne Grasso. He is survived by his brother Michael (Lilianne) Bartuccio of Cedar Brook, and his brother-in-law Carmen (Joanne) Grasso, Sr. of Elm, NJ. He was the loving Father of Elayne (nee Bartuccio) Hill (Joseph) of West Berlin and Anthony M. Bartuccio of Cedar Brook, NJ. Beloved Godfather and uncle of Sandra Grasso. Beloved uncle of Joanne (Andy) Hamilton, Carmen Grasso, Michael Jr., and Brett Bartuccio. Loving great uncle and beloved cousin to many family members. He graduated from Edgewood Regional High School in 1963. Family and community values taught to him by his parents he grew up working in his grandparent’s general store in town and working with his dad performing maintenance on Township vehicles in their garage in the back yard. He also worked for Cedar Brook Rustic. Pete lived during a time when towns were molded by their citizens. He would carry these values throughout his life. He would work as an auxiliary police officer for Winslow Police Department, joined the National Guard, and volunteered with the Cedar Brook Fire Department where he was Fire Police. He was fun to dress as Santa Claus for his neighbor’s children because the real Santa was busy on Christmas Eve. He started his career working for Pennsylvania Railroad as a lineman. Taking a job that would help people via public transportation would coincide with his values. Pennsylvania Railroad would grow into Amtrak and Pete would retire in 2004. His marriage would give him the joy in his life, two children, daughter Elayne (nee Bartuccio) Hill (Joseph), and son Anthony M. Bartuccio. His children would be loved and blessed with Dad’s values of family and community. Pete always knew what needed to be done and did it in an unassuming way. He also recognized the needs of others. He would help his aunt’s and mother-in-law when they grew into their senior years doing chores around the house when they could no longer perform them. His favorite times were gatherings with family and friends. He felt blessed with his nieces, nephews, and their children along with many cousins, beautiful son and nephew, loyal brother, cousin and friend, caring protective supportive compassionate uncle and father. Pete lived his life with love, and he will be deeply missed.
