Alice Miller

January 20, 1944 — October 9, 2019

Alice Miller (nee Schulz), longtime resident of Cedarbrook, NJ, was called from this world to eternal life on October 9, 2019 at 75 years of age. Alice is predeceased by her loving husband Tom, and is survived by her son Thomas Miller and daughter in law Danielle Miller of Ewing, NJ; son Kevin Miller of Cherry Hill, NJ; daughter Erin Intessimoni, son in law Jesse Intessimoni, and grandchildren Finley and Harper Intessimoni of Waterford, NJ. Alice is also survived by her siblings Eileen Prior of Worchester, MA; Fred Schulz of Hamilton, NJ; Sue Dressler of Phoenixville, PA; James Schulz of Ewing, NJ; Terri Schulz Fry of Cape Coral, FL; Sheila Thrower of Pleasant Gardens, NC; and sister in law Judy Miller of Bear, DE. Dozens of additional family members including brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and many more are counted among those who remember and hold her close in their hearts and memories. Alice was born in Trenton, NJ on January 20, 1944 to Ferdinand Schulz and Eileen McClain Schulz. A member of the first graduating class of Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, NJ; Alice embarked upon two careers, the first with Bell Telephone and the second with Trans World Airlines (TWA). It was during her time at TWA she met and fell in love with Tom Miller of Philadelphia, PA, the love of her life. They were married in 1972. Alice and Tom traveled the world together through their work at TWA. The two visited Paris, London, Japan, and dozens of other destinations around the US and the world, with Hawaii a favorite among all others. Starting with their honeymoon, the two returned to the islands more than two dozen times before Tom’s passing in 1999. Her third act included ten years as a teacher’s aide caring for children in the Winslow school system. Alice was a proud, loving, and fiercely dedicated mother to her three children. She instilled in them a deep sense of family, of duty to one’s self and community, a robust sense of humor, empathy towards those in crisis or less fortunate, a love of travel, and a constant urge to work through fears and doubts towards becoming better people. She cherished nothing more than to be surrounded by family, friends, and all those she loved. She was funny, easy to laugh and help others feel at ease. She wore her heart on her sleeve. She loved to dance to Elvis in the kitchen on Sunday mornings. She loved going to the theatre with her friends and going to Phillies games with her brother Fred. Whether in Hawaii or a foreign shore, Cape May or Sanibel, Florida; Alice loved sitting in the sand and listening to the waves, looking towards the horizon and her next great adventure. She will be missed deeply and truly by all who knew her and remember her. A viewing for Alice will be held on Thursday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home at 441 White Horse Pike, Acto NJ. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on October 17 at 11 a.m. at Assumption Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Atco, NJ. Burial will take place immediately following at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Route 73 in Blue Anchor, NJ.
