Alan Michael Basquez

Alan Michael Basquez, age 68, of West Berlin, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 13th, 2021. Beloved husband of Debra Basquez. Cherished father of Kimberly (Rich) Wegrzyniak, Nicholas (Amanda) Basquez, David (Amanda) Basquez, Andrew Basquez and Brittney (Dalton Sr.) Basquez-Clark. Dear grandfather of Aidan, Aubree, Brooklyn (and her mother Alexis), Lana, Rowan, David Jr, Jaxson, and Dalton Jr. Alan was born in Oak Park, Illinois on January 9th, 1953, to parents David Joseph Basquez and Florence Mary Basquez (nee Gattuso). He graduated from Prospect High School of Mt. Prospect, Illinois in 1971. Alan had many achievements in high school, ranking one of the top athletes throughout his junior and senior high school years playing football, basketball, wrestling, and track. Alan loved music, he was part of a local cover band in Prospect, playing the drums, performing at local fairs and events around Mt. Prospect. He later married Debra Piper in October 1980 and started a family of his own. Many would say his greatest life accomplishment would be the family he had created and raised with his wife Debra. Alan loved his family more than anything, being a father and grandfather brought him more joy in life than life itself. He worked for Equity One/ Popular mortgage for 15 years. He then later retired. Alan was very hardworking, and always provided for his family, he loved making people laugh, and making them smile. Alan had a heart of gold. He loved sports, cars, holidays and being outside.
