Ajit Jayaram Tikekar

January 1, 1951 — March 28, 2024

Ajit Jayaram Tikekar, age 73 of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away on March 28, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Jayaram and Mangala Tikekar in Mumbai, India. Ajit was self-employed as a food technologist after retiring from Campbell Soup Company. As a global citizen, he lived in Mumbai, UK, Zambia, Canada and the US, and his love of travel took him to 6 continents. Ajit enjoyed reading and staying active by playing sports, exercising, and running. In his younger days, Ajit played badminton and even competed for Zambia. He always made it a point to keep in touch with his loved ones around the world. Ajit was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.


Ajit is predeceased by his sister, Shila Rawat and first son, Rohit Tikekar.


He is survived by his wife, Nisha Tikekar; sons, Gautam and Anand Tikekar; daughter in-law, Megha; grandchildren, Krish and Ariya; and brother, Ravi Tikekar.


A viewing and Puja will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 4:00 PM at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. Cremation will follow. A live stream of the services will be available by clicking this link .
