John N. Dexter

John N. Dexter, age 65, of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021. “Papa John” was beloved father of Michael Dexter, Stephanie (Michael) DeLuca and John Neal (Jessica) Dexter III. Proud grandfather of Xia, Izzie and Leo. Loving brother of Patricia Hohwald, Robert Dexter, the late Thomas Dexter and the late Daniel Dexter. He is also survived by former wives Debra Moncrief and Holly Dexter. John was born in Washington DC and grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ. He had a fulfilling career at Subaru of America, where he was very proud of his 40+ years of service. John was an avid hockey fan. He was fascinated with the history and tradition of the original six NHL teams, specifically the Toronto Maple Leafs. However, his primary alliance always remained with the Philadelphia Flyers. John enjoyed sharing his love of the game; particularly the people, places and memories. John was very passionate about music, especially percussion. He enjoyed the throne of a classic drum set as much as he enjoyed playing drums on the steering wheel and dashboard of one of his beloved exotic cars. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday March 6, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A family eulogy will begin at 11:00 am. Cremation will be held privately.
