Obituary of Dorothy Trucksess

Dorothy M. Trucksess (nee Conway), age 84,  peacefully ended her earthly journey on February 1, 2018.  

Born in Philadelphia to Patrick and Mary Kate Conway, Dorothy attended Hallahan High School where she was a cheerleader as well as the school mascot..  After graduating, she worked at the Philadelphia Veterans Administration from 1951 to 1957 before becoming the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Robin J. Trucksess and moving to Lindenwold, NJ,where they raised their family. 

She was a devoted mother to Joseph Trucksess (Nancy) of Haddon Heights, NJ, Karen T. Barry of Ocean View, NJ, and Robin Trucksess of the Appalachian Trail.  Dottie was a beautiful, loving, and kind women, who always made everyone feel special, no matter how many people were in the room.  She had a gift of sharing her wonderful, optimistic spirit with everyone she met.  Her delightful social skills were put to good use in the various sales and marketing positions where she was employed over the years, as well as working at the Philadelphia Passport Agency.   

While raising her children, she was an active member of the St. Lawrence PTA, coached cheerleading for the Lindenwold Overbrook Cowboys, and was Secretary of the South Jersey Women’s Club.  With great joy she became the loving Mom-Mom to Lindsay (Christopher) Hopkins of North East, MD, Luke J. Trucksess of Haddon Heights, NJ, Zachary J. (Danielle) Trucksess of Haddon Heights, NJ, and Robin and Shawna Barry of Ocean View, NJ and Great Grandmother to Matthew, Emma, and Maya Hopkins and Griffin Trucksess.  Survived by sisters Mary Frain, Bernadine Scott and Eileen Dykan and the late siblings Margaret Conway, Kathleen Conklin, James Conway, Josephine Melia, and John Conway. 

Funeral mass will be held Friday, February 9, at 11 am at St Rose of Lima RC Church, 300 E Kings Hwy, Haddon Heights, NJ.   In lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to Mary Kate’s Legacy Foundation PO.
