Francis J. Campbell, "Uncle Frank," "Franny," 86 yrs., passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, February 21st. Born in 1931 to the late Francis H. & Anna Campbell (nee Pushar) in Camden, NJ. Frank was a born in raised in Louden, NJ and was graduate of Camden Catholic High School in 1951. He loved playing baseball and was an avid Phillies fan. He was a season ticket holder for the Philadelphia Eagles. Frank was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Holly, NJ and was the Treasurer of the Senior Center. Frank served in the United States Navy and earned a Veterans Service Metal. Francis was a member of the USS Bennington that was knocked by explosion and set on fire at Quonset Point, Rhode Island in June 1954 killing 100 crewmen. Francis escaped injury. After his service in the United States Navy Frank worked for General Electric for 30 years. He enjoyed watching horse races and once even attended the Kentucky Derby.
He predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years, Marion E. Campbell (nee Clarke); brother, Joseph J. Campbell.
He is survived by his sister, Mary A. Parkes; nieces and nephews, Mary M. Resavy, Anne C. Parkes, Edward J. Parkes, Joseph I. Delia, Jerald T. Delia, Francine J. Parkes, James J. Parkes, John J. Campbell, Michael P. Campbell and Francis H. Campbell.
Friends and family are invited to attend Frank's visitation on Friday, February 24th from 2pm-4pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home at 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A Funeral Service will follow with honors. Burial will remain private to the family.
