Sushil Chandra, age 81, of Cherry Hill, NJ passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Beloved husband of Kamla Chandra. Loving father of Anju (Arvind) Pejavara and Gautam (Varsha) Chandra, and grandfather to Nikki, Kartik, Siddharth, Sonali, Anika, and Aditi.
Mr. Chandra was born in Najibabad, India, and has been an area resident since 1980. He graduated first in his class from the Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee in 1959, and after working as a successful engineer and business man for several years in India emigrated to the US with his family in the late 70’s. In the US, he had a long and successful career with Huntsman Chemical before retiring in 1998. A consummate family man, he loved all his grandchildren and was known among all his family and friends for his warm smile, quick wit, and cheerful temperament.
Some of his favorite times were playing tennis and playing cards while spending time and sharing good food and laughs with his friends and going to the casino. He will be greatly missed by his friends for his humor and entertaining stories. He traveled many parts of the world and was especially fond of cruising. He was moved by causes that help the disabled and underprivileged children.
A viewing and service will be held on Monday April 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. Cremation will follow the service.
