Wooster Funeral Home, Atco, NJ BiographySwapan K. Basak, age 63 of Cherry Hill, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday December 22, 2011.Mr. Basak was born in Calcutta India and had been a resident of Cherry Hill. Swapan worked as a Software Engineer for over 35 years. He was an accomplished engineer in satellite communications. Most recently, he worked on high level government work in the area of defense for L3 Communications in Camden. Mr. Basak loved playing cards, especially contract bridge or watching soccer and basketball. At home Swapan enjoyed his single malt scotch and Indian sweets listening to his favorite Indian music. He was very intelligent in the math and physics disciplines and loved tutoring his sons. Although his career took him all over the world Swapan loved nothing more than to spend tyime with his family at home. Mr. Basak is the son of Lila & the late Nitya Basak. Swapan is survived by his wife of 36 years Rita Basak (nee Das) and is the father of Rajita & her husband David Goldberg, Ronita & her husband Jonathan Simon, Shajohn and Shojosh Basak. Mr. Basak is the proud grandfather of Bela Goldberg, Judah Simon and Jonah Goldberg. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his brother Pradip Basak. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Basak families in a service at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home 441 White horse Pike Atco this afternoon between 1 pm and 3 pm. Inurnment will be held privately. |
