Wooster Funeral Home, Atco, NJ Interment: Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin, NJ Biography(nee Walsh) On Christmas Eve, December 24, 2009 of Blue Anchor, NJ, formerly of Laurel Springs, NJ and Philadelphia, PA. She also owned a summer home in Fortescue, NJ. Maria went home to the Lord, at the age of 87, to join her soul mate and loving husband Thomas J. Burke.She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Her home and family were the focus of her life. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered for her pots of homemade soups and candy. Maria was a past member of the Hider Lane Senior Club and the Gloucester Twp. Democrat Club. Born in Phila. PA, she was the eldest daughter of George and Marie Walsh. Maria is survived by 1 sister, Veronica Rambo of Florida. She is predeceased by her brothers George and Francis, her sisters Dorothy Van Den Enda and Rita Murray, her grandson James Beck and step-grandson Steven Marino. Maria and Tom were married for over 50 years. She is survived by her 7 dedicated children. Frank Beck of Sellersville, PA., Marie Beck of Perkasie, PA, Ann Senkow (Mike) of Pennsburg, PA., James Beck (Cindy) of Aurora, CO, Carol Persicketti (Robert) of Voorhees, NJ, Anna Marino (Steve) of Blue Anchor, NJ with whom she resided, and Maureen Rhubart (Walt Kunkle) of Port Norris, NJ. Maria had 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, Dec 29th from 7-9pm and again on Wednesday morning from 9am-10am at Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ (856)767-0539. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Pennington Ave., Waterford, NJ. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin NJ. In lieu of flowers, and after struggling with Alzheimers for 9 years, remembrances in Maria's name may be donated to Alzheimer's of Southern New Jersey, Regional Office at 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, New Jersey 08053. |
